Erasmus Visit to Italy - May 2017

We recently returned from our Erasmus+ trip to Italy, it was a rich learning experience which pushed us out of our comfort zones. It taught us to understand and tolerate different cultures. The temporary change of lifestyle made us realise the many differences between the different countries and cultures, e.g. food, family and education.

Schools from The United Kingdom, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Sicily and Greece were involved in the project. All students had a good understanding of the English language, for the few that struggled we managed to forge friendships using different means of communication, including learning a small amount of Italian.

Our host families were incredibly welcoming and friendly people. The impact the families had on us hadn’t become apparent until it was time to leave; tears were shed! We said ‘grazie’ to them for all they had done and made a promise to return. It was an experience we will all treasure.

Our thanks go to the schools, Erasmus, our host families and especially Miss Pretty and Mrs Chilvers for making such a brilliant trip possible!
